COD Set-Up MD610
With four measuring ranges from 3 to 15,000 mg/L, the MD610 provides the flexibility to analyse water samples ranging from low to very high levels of organic contamination. Low, Middle-Low and Middle Range methods meet the requirements of ISO 15705:2002, supporting routine wastewater, environmental and process water analysis.
Suitable for laboratories, wastewater treatment facilities and industrial applications, the MD610 COD Set-Up provides a straightforward solution for reliable COD monitoring.
Simple and Efficient COD Testing
The MD610 COD Set-Up uses the established sealed-tube method to simplify routine COD analysis and minimise sample handling. Simply add the water sample to the appropriate Lovibond® ST-COD tube, digest at 150 °C for two hours, then measure the prepared sample using the MD610 photometer.
Ready-to-use, prefilled ST-COD tubes make sample preparation straightforward and help reduce handling and the potential for operator error. The MD610 then uses photometric measurement to determine the COD concentration, providing consistent results for routine water quality monitoring.
The complete set-up includes the MD610 photometer, ST-COD tube tests for the two lower measuring ranges, digestion reactor and vial stand, providing the essential equipment needed to get started with COD analysis.
Flexible Measurement Across a Wide COD Range
The MD610 COD Set-Up supports four measuring ranges, allowing the appropriate method to be selected according to the sample and expected COD concentration:
- Low Range: 3–150 mg/L
- Middle-Low Range: 15–300 mg/L
- Middle Range: 20–1,500 mg/L
- High Range: 200–15,000 mg/L
The Low, Middle-Low and Middle Range methods meet the requirements of ISO 15705:2002, while the High Range method extends measurement up to 15,000 mg/L for samples with higher levels of organic contamination.
For samples containing chloride, selected ST-COD methods incorporate chemistry designed to suppress chloride interference. This provides interference suppression up to 1,000 mg/L chloride for Low and Medium Range methods and up to 10,000 mg/L for the High Range method.
Mercury-free ST-COD tube tests are also available for applications where chloride interference is not present, providing an alternative option for suitable water samples.
