The Lovibond® MD 640 is a high-performance multiparameter photometer developed for professional boiler, cooling and industrial water analysis. Combining comprehensive colourimetric testing with dedicated PTSA and Fluorescein tracer measurement, it provides water treatment professionals with a versatile solution for routine testing using a single portable instrument.
With more than 120 pre-programmed methods, the MD 640 supports extensive water quality analysis alongside specialist monitoring of fluorescent tracers used in water treatment programmes.
A six-wavelength optical system, intuitive menu-driven operation, Bluetooth® connectivity and storage for up to 1,000 results provide the measurement performance and data management capabilities required for testing in the field or laboratory.
Designed for Boiler & Cooling Water Analysis
The MD 640 is specifically suited to professionals responsible for monitoring boiler water, cooling towers and closed water systems.
In addition to a comprehensive range of colourimetric water testing methods, the instrument provides dedicated measurement of PTSA (p-Toluenesulfonic Acid) and Fluorescein, allowing fluorescent tracers to be monitored alongside other important water quality parameters.
Bringing these measurements together in one portable instrument simplifies routine testing and provides greater flexibility when managing industrial water treatment programmes.
Comprehensive Multiparameter Testing
More than 120 pre-programmed methods provide testing capability across a broad range of water quality parameters.
Methods can be selected by name through the menu-driven interface, while frequently used tests can be added to a personalised favourites menu for faster access.
On-screen information identifies the appropriate reagents, sample cells and reporting units, helping users follow the correct procedure for each selected method.
High-Performance Optical Measurement
The MD 640 uses a six-wavelength optical system with precision LEDs and interference filters to provide accurate and reproducible measurements across its extensive range of test methods.
The One-Time-Zero (OTZ) function reduces repeated zeroing steps when carrying out compatible measurements on the same sample, helping make routine testing more efficient.
Flexible Data Management
The MD 640 can store up to 1,000 results, including location ID, date and time information, providing a detailed record of testing activity.
Built-in Bluetooth® connectivity allows results to be transferred wirelessly to the AquaLX® App for review and data management.
